Pao De Kuai Strategy: 8 Tips to Run Out First
Pao De Kuai is a race: the fewer plays your hand needs, the sooner you're out. New to it? Read the rules.
1. Plan your hand
Group straights, pair chains, planes and three-with-twos first; singles last.
2. Lead long
When you lead, play the combination that sheds the most cards.
3. Get rid of low cards early
Small singles and pairs are hardest to play later. Keep high cards to win the lead back.
4. Keep a control card
A 2, an Ace or a bomb lets you take the lead when you need it near the end.
5. Use must-beat
Opponents must beat you if they can, even breaking up their best combinations.
6. Mind the last card
When the next player has one card, don't feed them a single they can beat. The rules make you play your highest single anyway.
7. Time your bombs
A bomb wins 10 points from each opponent and the lead. It's worth most when someone is about to go out.
8. Count the 2 and the Aces
There is only one 2 and three Aces. Track them to know who can still beat you.
