Bowling Score Calculator
Enter the pins each ball knocked down, in order. The calculator marks strikes (X), spares (/) and misses (–), and works out the running total, including the tenth frame's bonus balls. It uses the same scoring code as our bowling game.

How the numbers add up
- Open frame: the pins knocked down, e.g. 7 and 2 make 9.
- Spare: 10 plus the next ball. A spare followed by an 8 is 18.
- Strike: 10 plus the next two balls. A strike followed by 7 and 3 is 20.
- Tenth frame: a strike earns two bonus balls, a spare one. They only count in the tenth frame.

Frequently asked questions
Why is there no total under a strike yet?
A strike scores 10 plus your next two balls, and a spare 10 plus your next ball. Until those balls are bowled, the frame can't be added up.
How many points is three strikes in a row?
The first of the three is worth 30 (10 plus two more strikes). A game of all strikes, twelve in a row, is 300.
