Box Pusher Strategy: 7 Tips

1. Corners are deadly

A box in a corner can never be pushed out. Unless that corner is a goal, the level can't be finished.

2. Walls with no goal on them

A box pushed against a wall can only slide along that wall. If no goal lies along that stretch of wall, the box is stuck there.

3. Two boxes side by side against a wall

Two boxes next to each other along a wall can't be moved apart by pushing along the wall. Neither can a 2×2 block of boxes and walls.

4. Don't wall yourself in

Before a push, look where the worker will be afterwards. A box can cut off the only way back to the other boxes.

5. Fill the far goals first

Goals deep in a dead end should usually be filled first. A box on a near goal can block the way to the far ones.

6. Work backwards

Look at a goal and ask how a box could arrive there: from which side, pushed by a worker standing where? That often shows which box should go there.

7. Undo is free

Experiment. If something goes wrong, undo back to before the mistake. Then try for the fewest pushes shown for the level.
