Casino Strategy: 6 Tips

Casino rewards memory and patience. New? See the rules.

1. Count the cards

There are four of each rank. If three 7s are gone, a 7-build is nearly safe. Track aces (1 point each), the 10♦ and the 2♠.

2. Build with what you would trail

A card you can't use is a liability on the table. Turning it into a build you hold the capture for converts it into a likely two-card capture next turn.

3. Multiple over single

A single build can be raised by a card from hand; a multiple build can only be captured by its exact value. When you hold two cards of a value, double-build and sit on it.

4. Don't feed sweeps

Before trailing, add up the table. If the total is 10 or less, a single card could sweep. Trail a card that breaks the total or adds a face card.

5. Protect the point cards

Never trail an ace, the 10♦ or the 2♠. Capture them early when you can, even with a card you'd rather keep.

6. The last capture

Leftovers go to whoever captured last. Near the end of the deck, make any capture available on your final cards and deny your opponent theirs.

The hard computer weighs all of this from the unseen cards; normal takes half the risks into account; easy plays loosely.

Frequently asked questions

Is building worth it in Casino?

Usually, if you hold the value and the opponent probably doesn't. A multiple build is safer than a single one: it can't be raised, and the opponent needs exactly its value to take it. Build with cards you would otherwise have to trail.
