Dodge every heart and the Queen of Spades, or take them all and shoot the moon.

How to play

  1. Four players, no partners, 13 cards each. The lowest score wins.
  2. Before each hand, pass three cards: left, right, across, then keep them on the fourth hand.
  3. The 2 of clubs leads. Follow suit if you can; the highest card of the suit led takes the trick.
  4. Every heart you take is 1 point and the Queen of Spades is 13. Hearts can't be led until one has been played.
  5. Take all 26 points and you shoot the moon: everyone else gets 26 instead. The game ends at 100.
