How to Play Jigsaw Sudoku
Jigsaw Sudoku, also called irregular or squiggly sudoku, keeps the rows and columns of sudoku and swaps the 3×3 boxes for nine odd shapes.
The rules
- Fill the grid with the digits 1 to 9 so that each digit appears once in every row and every column.
- The grid is divided into nine regions of nine cells, outlined with thick lines. Each region also holds 1 to 9 once.
Playing on kawu
- Pick a cell, then a digit. Shift + digit, or the Notes toggle, writes a small candidate.
- Repeats in a row, column or region are marked; Show errors marks digits that disagree with the solution.
- Three difficulties; easy and medium can be solved with singles alone.
- The daily puzzle is the same for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
How do I tell the regions apart?
Thick lines mark their borders and each region has a faint tint of its own. Tap a cell and its whole region is shaded along with its row and column.
Are the regions always the same?
No. Every puzzle has its own set of nine shapes, so the first thing to do is look at them.
