How to Play Mini Golf
Mini golf (putt-putt, crazy golf) is golf with only the putter: get the ball into the cup in as few strokes as you can.
Strokes and par
- Each hit is a stroke. Your score on a hole is the number of strokes it took.
- Par is the number a good player expects to need. Under par is great; a hole in one is the best.
- The course has nine holes. Lowest total wins.
The course
- Walls: the ball bounces off them, so you can bank a shot round a corner.
- Bumpers (red): they bounce the ball away hard.
- Sand: the ball slows down much faster.
- Water: a penalty stroke, and you play again from where you hit it.
The ball only drops if it's rolling slowly enough; a hard putt skims over the cup.
Turns
Each player finishes the hole before the next one tees off. After seven strokes you pick up and score 7.
On kawu
Press on the course, pull back away from where you want to go and let go: the further you pull, the harder the putt. Or use the arrow keys (aim and power) and Enter. Play alone, against the computer at three levels, or with a friend on the same device. Play mini golf, or read the tips.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if your ball goes in the water in mini golf?
You take a one-stroke penalty and play again from where you hit the ball. On kawu the ball goes back automatically.
Is there a maximum number of strokes per hole?
Most courses have one so the game keeps moving. On kawu it's seven: after seven strokes you pick up and score 7.
