How to Play Number Link
Number Link is a loop-free routing puzzle: pairs of numbers, one path each, and no square left over.
The rules
- Every number on the grid appears twice. Draw a path joining the two.
- Paths run through neighbouring squares: up, down, left, right.
- Paths never cross and never share a square.
- Every square of the grid is used by some path.
Every puzzle on kawu has exactly one answer.
Playing on kawu
- Drag from a number (or from any square of its path) through the squares to the matching number. Lift to commit the path.
- Dragging back along your own path shortens it; drawing over another path cuts it.
- The status line counts joined pairs and empty squares.
- Hint draws one whole path. Undo removes the last drag.
- Sizes 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7; the daily puzzle is the same for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
Do paths have to fill every square?
Yes on kawu. That's what makes the answer unique: without the fill rule most grids would allow many shortcuts.
Can a path go diagonally?
No. Paths move up, down, left and right between neighbouring squares.
What happens when I draw over another path?
The other path is cut at the square you took and keeps only the part connected to its first number. Redraw it afterwards.
