- Clear the edges first. Outer tiles can join round the outside; removing them opens the middle.
- Find the blockers. A tile that sits in the way of several lines is worth removing early.
- Plan the four. Each tile appears four times; which two you pair first can decide whether you get stuck later.
- Look at the whole board. There's often an easier pair elsewhere.
- Save neighbours. Two identical tiles side by side can always go: keep them for the end.
- Hints cost time. For the daily board, a good look often beats a hint.
