How to Play Snake
Snake is the classic: guide a growing snake around the field to eat food, without crashing.
How to play
- The snake moves on its own, one square at a time. Steer it with the arrow keys, W A S D, a swipe, or the on-screen pad.
- Eat the food to grow one square longer and score points. New food appears in a random free square.
- Running into a wall or into your own body ends the game.
- You can't reverse straight back; quick double turns are remembered in order.
Speeds and points
| Speed | Points per food |
|---|---|
| Slow | 1 |
| Normal | 2 |
| Fast | 3 |
Choose the speed in the settings. Each speed keeps its own best score.
Pausing
- Space pauses and resumes. Switching tabs pauses for you.
- Close the page and your game is saved; it waits, paused, when you come back.

Frequently asked questions
Can the snake go through the walls?
No. On kawu the walls are solid: running into one ends the game.
Can I turn straight back?
No. A turn back the way you came is ignored, so a quick wrong key won't end your game.
