Snake Strategy: 8 Tips for a Longer Snake
Early on Snake is about speed; later it's about space. New to it? Read the rules.
1. Don't rush the food
Take a safe route. A detour costs nothing; a crash costs the game.
2. Keep space ahead
Always know where you'll go after the next two turns.
3. Use the edges
Running along a wall keeps half the field open behind you.
4. Sweep in rows when you're long
Going back and forth across the field keeps your body tidy.
5. Don't box yourself in
Never enter an area smaller than your snake.
6. Follow your tail
Your tail moves away as you move, so the square it leaves is always safe.
7. Plan the turn after the food
The snake grows right after eating; make sure the next squares are free.
8. Pick your speed
Learn on Normal, then try Fast: each food is worth more.
