How to Play Scorpion Solitaire
Scorpion looks like Spider but plays like Yukon: whole piles move whatever their order, and the sting is in the three face-down cards buried in each of the first four columns.
Layout
- Seven columns of seven cards. In the first four columns the bottom three cards are face down; the last three columns are all face up.
- The three remaining cards are the tail, kept face down until you deal them.
Moves
- Move any face-up card together with every card on top of it, in any order, onto the card of the same suit one rank higher.
- Only a King, or a pile that starts with a King, may be moved into an empty column.
- When a face-down card is uncovered at the end of a column, it turns over.
- Deal the tail whenever you like: one card goes face up onto each of the first three columns.
Winning
There are no foundations. Build each suit from King down to Ace in a single column; four complete runs win.
Playing on kawu
Click a card to pick up its pile, then click where it goes; double-click moves it if there's a legal spot. Hint suggests a move or the deal. Unlimited undo. "Only deal games that can be won" is on by default, and the daily deal is the same for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
When should I deal the tail?
Any time, but usually as late as possible: the three cards land on the first three columns and may bury cards you need. Deal when you're stuck or when a tail card would complete a run.
Why are there no foundations?
Scorpion is built entirely in the columns. A suit is finished when it runs King down to Ace in one column; four such columns win the game.
Can every deal be won?
No. Many Scorpion deals are impossible. kawu deals only winnable games by default (the solver checks them); untick the option for raw random deals.
