How to Play TriPeaks Solitaire
TriPeaks is a fast, cheerful solitaire. You clear three peaks of cards by playing them one at a time onto a waste pile, each card one higher or one lower than the last. The fun is in the runs: chaining card after card without touching the stock.
The layout
- 28 cards form three overlapping peaks. Each peak has a top card, then two, then the peaks share a row of nine, and a base row of ten runs along the bottom.
- The ten base cards are face up. All the others start face down. A card turns face up when both cards covering it have been played.
- The other 24 cards form the stock. One is turned over to start the waste pile.
Playing cards
You can move any face-up peak card onto the waste if it is one rank higher or one rank lower than the waste's top card. Suit doesn't matter.
- On a 7, you can play any 6 or any 8.
- After that card you continue from the new top. Play a 6 on the 7, then a 5, then back up to a 6.
- King and Ace connect by default, so a King can go on an Ace and an Ace on a King. You can switch this off in the settings for a stricter game.
The stock
When you can't play, or don't want to, click the stock. Its top card goes face up onto the waste and becomes the card to build from. You can draw at any time, but drawing ends your run. The stock is used only once; there's no redeal.
Scoring
Each card you play scores the length of your current run. The first card of a run is worth 1, the next 2, the next 3, and so on. A run of five scores 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 15. Playing the top card of a peak earns 15 bonus points.
Long runs are worth far more than the same cards played in short bursts. That makes TriPeaks a game of planning, not just matching.
Winning and losing
You win by clearing all three peaks. The game ends without a win when the stock is empty and no face-up card can be played. Your score still counts.

Frequently asked questions
Can you put a King on an Ace in TriPeaks?
On kawu, yes by default: King and Ace count as neighbours, so you can play an Ace on a King or a King on an Ace. Some versions don't allow this; you can turn it off in the settings.
Does suit matter in TriPeaks?
No. Only the rank matters. Any 8 can go on any 7 or 9.
How is TriPeaks scored?
On kawu each card you play scores the length of your current run: the first card 1 point, the second 2, the third 3 and so on. Drawing from the stock ends the run. Clearing the top card of a peak earns 15 extra points.
Can every TriPeaks game be won?
No. The stock is drawn once and never reused, so some deals can't be cleared. The score lets you compare games even when you don't clear all three peaks.
