How to Play Yukon Solitaire

Yukon looks like Klondike but plays very differently: there's no stock to turn over, and you can pick up any face-up card with the whole pile sitting on top of it. The game is about digging to the face-down cards.

The deal

Moving cards

The foundations

Move each Ace to a foundation when it's free, then build that suit up to the King. Click a card that can go to a foundation and it goes there. Double-click any card to send it to the best place.

Winning

You win when all 52 cards are on the foundations. Once every card is face up, an Auto-complete button finishes the game for you.

Solvable deals

By default kawu deals only games its solver has won, so every game you start can be won. Turn off "Only deal games that can be won" in the settings for fully random deals.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Yukon and Klondike?

Yukon deals every card at the start and has no stock. In exchange, you may move any face-up card together with all the cards on top of it, even if they aren't in order. Klondike only lets you move runs that are already in sequence.

Can any card go into an empty column?

No. Only a King, or a group of cards whose bottom card is a King, can be moved into an empty column.

Can every Yukon game be won?

Most, but not all. By default kawu only deals games that its solver, which sees every card, has won, so a win is always possible. You can turn this off in the settings for fully random deals.

Can I move a card back from a foundation?

Yes. The top card of a foundation can come back onto a column when it helps you dig something out.
