How to Play Thermometers
Thermometers is a counting puzzle with a physical twist: every square is part of a thermometer, and thermometers fill from the bottom.
The rules
- The grid is covered by thermometers: straight runs of squares, each starting at a round bulb.
- Each thermometer is filled from the bulb outward to some level, or left empty. Filled squares are never separated by a gap.
- The numbers beside each row and column give how many squares in that line are filled.
Playing on kawu
- Tap a square to fill its thermometer up to that square; tap the filled tip again to lower it one, or the bulb to empty it.
- Counts turn green when matched and red when exceeded.
- Undo steps back; Hint sets one thermometer to its correct level.
- Sizes 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8; the daily puzzle is a 6×6 shared by everyone.

Frequently asked questions
Can a thermometer be filled from the top?
No. Liquid rises from the bulb: the filled squares always start at the bulb and run outward with no gap.
What about single-square thermometers?
A lone bulb is a thermometer of one square: either filled or empty.
