How to Play Edge Match
Edge Match is the quiet cousin of jigsaws: square tiles, four numbers each, and one condition. Where two tiles touch, the numbers agree.
The rules
- Each tile carries a number on each of its four sides.
- Place all tiles in the grid so that every shared edge has the same number on both sides.
- Tiles don't rotate.
Playing on kawu
- Tap a tile (in the tray or on the grid), then tap the square it should go to. Tapping an occupied square swaps the two tiles.
- The count of mismatched edges is shown under the board; it must reach zero with every square filled.
- Undo steps back; Hint moves one tile to where it belongs.
- Sizes 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5; the daily puzzle is a 4×4 shared by everyone.

Frequently asked questions
Can tiles be rotated?
No. Each tile keeps its orientation; only its position changes. That's what makes the puzzle a matter of logic rather than fiddling.
Is there only one answer?
Usually, but any arrangement where every shared edge matches is accepted. The hint uses the arrangement the puzzle was built from.
