Eight Off Strategy: 5 Tips
Eight Off rewards tidy play. Rules first? See how to play.
1. Clear the cells first
Four cells start full. Place those cards on columns as soon as there is a fit, so you have room to work.
2. Aces and twos
Find the aces and twos and plan the digs that free them. Every foundation card in suit building is safe to send up at once.
3. Runs you can move
A same-suit run is only useful if you can move it later: its length is limited by your empty cells plus one. Keep runs short or keep cells empty.
4. Kings to empty columns
An empty column can only take a King, so clear one column early and park a King with its run there, freeing the column it came from.
5. Count before the dig
Before uncovering a deep card, count the cells and column moves you need. Undo is unlimited; use it to test a line without penalty.
Frequently asked questions
Is Eight Off easier than FreeCell?
Usually, yes: with eight cells almost every deal can be won, and same-suit building means any card that fits a foundation can go up at once. The traps are filling your cells and burying a low card under a long same-suit run.
