How to play
- A 5×5 board. Three musketeers start on a diagonal; the Cardinal's twenty-two men fill the rest.
- The musketeers move first. A musketeer must capture: it moves onto an orthogonally adjacent enemy and removes it.
- An enemy piece moves one square orthogonally into an empty square. Enemies never capture.
- The enemy wins the moment all three musketeers stand in one row or one column.
- The musketeers win when none of them can capture and they are not lined up.
