How to Play Untangle
Untangle is the planarity puzzle: the picture is a mess of crossing lines, but it was drawn neatly before it was scrambled, and your job is to put it back.
The rules
- Dots sit on lattice points and are joined by straight lines. Lines stretch and turn as their dots move.
- Move a dot to any empty lattice point: tap the dot, then the point.
- The puzzle is solved when no two lines cross and no dot lies on a line it is not an end of. Lines that only meet at a shared dot are fine.
- A crossing-free layout always exists; any such layout wins.
Playing on kawu
Crossing lines are drawn in red and the count below the board tells you how many remain. Sizes have 6, 9 or 12 dots; the daily puzzle has 9 and is timed. Hint moves one dot towards a known answer. Undo is allowed.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to match a particular layout?
No. Any arrangement with no crossings wins. The hint moves dots towards one known answer, but yours can look completely different.
Do lines that share a dot count as crossing?
Only if they lie on top of each other. Two lines meeting at their common dot are fine.
