How to play
- A 7×7 board, 25 dark squares, eleven soldiers each. White moves first.
- Soldiers move one square diagonally forward; a capture jumps over an adjacent enemy column onto the empty square beyond.
- The captured column's top piece goes under the jumper, forming a column controlled by its top piece. The rest of the jumped column stays and is uncovered.
- Capturing is compulsory and continues as long as possible; a soldier reaching the far row becomes an officer, which also moves backwards, and the move ends.
- The player who cannot move loses. Sixty moves without a capture or promotion is a draw.
